Nude is the New Black

Today's Shoe of the Day inspired this blog post. Yes, nude is in! I can't even tell you how happy I am to see this as a trend, I am DYING to own a pair of sexy nude pumps. They're hot and they're versatile, everyone needs at LEAST one pair in their collection.

I've seen some great ones so far by Steve Madden, Nine West, and BCBGeneration that would make any girl swoon.

These babies are going to be mine soon, I've tried them on and I am in love. You wouldn't think it from looking at them, but they are comfy. My only gripe is that the shoe is a bit pointed where the seams come together at the toe, it reminds me a bit of an elf shoe. It's hardly noticeable while wearing though, so I can overlook the flaw. I'm also liking how the platform of this shoe is hidden by the patent. I find that quite often platforms look a bit cheap, and I think my co-worker hit the nail on the head when she said it was hard to find a pump that didn't look like a "hooker shoe". This one is classy while still being on point with what's in now.

Who doesn't love a cute peep toe? This pump leans more on the beige side than the BCBGeneration heel and unfortunately I've realized beige just doesn't work with my skin tone. I would love to be able to pull this fun shoe off but it's just not going to happen, but I can say my wallet is happy about it. I've always loved Nine West, I find they make fashionable footwear that is of a high quality so even though they are often on the pricey side, I don't mind spending the money because I know what I'm buying will last.

Last but not least, a simply classic heel. This is a shape we all need in our collection and in several colours. Most women will have this staple in black already because of it's versatility. You can wear them with a suit but you can also pair them with a cute pair of jeans and a tee. I think in this economy a lot of us are thinking about how often we can use what we are buying, it may not make sense to buy the glittery purple heel we can only wear with that one dress but the nude heel we can wear almost anywhere? THIS makes sense. Jeans, skirts, dresses, morning, daytime, night.. the shoe can go anywhere, anytime which is why YOU (and I) need it.

Shoe Haul A'Comin!

Not today though, I don't get paid until Thursday ;)

My dad helped me out by randomly dropping by work during my shift on Saturday. I had no idea what to get him for his birthday coming up (why are men so hard to shop for?) and he fell in love with a pair of Converse AND even tried them on so I don't have to go size-guessing or worry about having to return.

I've been eyeing these since they came in for myself actually. Would it be weird to have the same shoes as my dad..?

I actually just shed some tears while searching for an image of the shoe. I thought it would be fastest for me to go to the Converse website for the picture and when I did I saw that these were clearanced for $29.99, at my work they would cost me $70 before tax, and excitedly clicked on them.. only to get a message saying they no longer carry the style. Not cool Converse, not cool. Guess I'm shelling out the $70 still.

Now about my haul o' shoes! We got a shipment today that included these cute moccasin booties by Ziggy Soho, can't get a picture of them though since they're so new. I was surprised actually because even the designer's site doesn't have them posted. They're black and at first I thought they were suede but they're actually fabric, and there is some blue beading on the toe. My co-worker showed them to me because she thought I'd like them, she's the reason I spend so much money there! I tried them on and they were a little bit tight but the cuteness factor makes me overlook that, also they will stretch a bit which will take care of it.

There are also a couple pairs in clearance, one being a hot pink Nine West sandal for $20 (OMG Nine West for $20?!?!?) and a Ralph Lauren military'ish style black bootie for $69.99. The bootie was a return from last week, I haven't tried it on so I'm not sure if they're comfy or not.. since the clearance price is still a bit high for me I won't buy them unless they are comfortable. Those Nine West sandals are coming with me no matter what though, really can't beat that price!

I was also debating getting a Pippa Bag from Modalu London but I think the price tag is a little too much for me right now.

Sophisticated, no? I love this purse to DEATH. We don't have it in store yet but we carried it before Christmas and it sold out FAST. It's about $250, I would get 40% off that but still.. not cheap. Not entirely sure about the quality though, we had a couple exchanges because there were a lot of loose threads showing on the front of the purses. I'm not sure if these were just isolated incidents? Either way, too rich for my blood right now, but I can still drool over it..

That's all for today! Hopefully no one's taken my soon-to-be shoes from clearance, I'll try to get decent pictures of my new babies when I bring them home on Thursday.
